A man tried to kill his wife by stabbing her to death after they crashed their car on the BR-290 highway in Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The couple allegedly quarreled in the car and drove erratically left and right all over the road until the vehicle hit an emergency phone post.
After the collision, the woman got off and tried to run away from her husband. He chased after her and pinned her to the ground, stabbing her several times with a knife.
All the action was filmed by two men who followed their vehicle after they noticed the couple was fighting inside. According to the police, the woman was stabbed twice in the chest and once in the neck.
After wounding the woman, the man tried to kill himself by driving the knife into his own chest. At that point, the man who filmed the action kicked the husband off his wife and held him restrained until the arrival of the Federal Highway police who made the arrest.
The couple have an 8 year old daughter. According to the wife, the husband was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, but as became known later – so was she. The woman was transferred to the Hospital emergency room in Porto Alegre. There was no further information about her condition.
According to the Civil Police, the two have been married for 12 years and this was not the first time they got into each other’s hair.
