On Monday 13 January 2013 a group of day tourists from the city of Ribeirão Pires, São Paulo Brazil, were swimming at Guaruja, São Paulo, when an approaching thunderstorm caused them to leave the water.
A 36 year old woman returned to the shallows to escort a child back to shore when a lightning bolt struck her.
She was dragged from the water unconscious and died on the beach a few minutes later.
The photos were captured by a newspaper photographer who was taking random photos and happened to be in the right place at the right time. Unlike the woman.
All hail mother nature. I didn’t know people in Brazil ever died from natural causes.
