This footage is a compilation of special operations by Brazilian SWAT type, specially trained Military Police called BOPE. The operations in the video were carried out in favelas of Chatuba, Vila Cruzeiro and Complexo do Alemão. BOPE are usually only deployed when regular police can’t handle the situation.
In the video, BOPE are shown entering slums with armored vehicles and engaging in shootouts with drug dealers. Favelas’ drug dealers are often armed with grenades and high powered assault rifles which is why armored vehicles are essential.
