After seeing countless videos of murderous cops in the USA and Canada, watching Brazilian cops being all kinds of gentle during the arrest of a criminal seemed completely out of place.
This video shows the aftermath of a chase the police gave after two thieves who were robbing drivers stopped on the red light. As the robbers fled, the police opened fire. One robber was shot in his ribcage, the other one was arrested.
During the arrest, after the resisting robber noticed that somebody was filming it, he urged the photographer to take the footage to the media as proof that he was a victim of “police brutality against a minor”.
The incident happened in Praça da Bandeira, a neighborhood in Northern Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He ain’t seen police brutality yet. He’d have a dozen cops tasering him, twisting his arm, kneeing him and choking him all at the same time, while being yelled at to “stop resisting” if this happened in America or Canada.
